For years I had my heart set on Otago, South Island, New Zealand but there was always an excuse not to make the move until I decided that I had to take massive action if it was ever going to become reality. In January 2017 I packed up my 'normal' life in the Wairarapa, jumped in my 1970's caravan with my son and fawn french bulldog and moved to Wanaka. I found the perfect spot by the Clutha River. I wanted to challenge myself by living permanently in the caravan, strip away all the unnecessary, modern day luxuries, go right back to basics and live off the grid. As a result, I've never been happier, I'm free of the system, I'm surrounded by stunning scenery and I love what I do, I've found my gold nugget."
